Make-up & Hair Artist with a passion for image

Some people discover along the way what they want to become. For Nadia Veenhof it was clear early on. At sixteen she began the all-round hairdressing course, which she completed ahead of schedule thanks to her dedication. During that period she took part in various hairdressing competitions and laid the foundation for a career in which creativity, technique and an eye for detail come together.

At eighteen she followed her greatest dream and started the training to become an Allround Make-up & Hair Artist at Studio Bessels, a renowned vocational school. She later returned as a teacher for the tv, photography and film module. A special step, in which she passed her knowledge on to a new generation of makers.

Background

From theatre to photography

In 2005 Nadia began her career in theatre, working on productions such as Steel Magnolias, Piaf and The Sound of Music. From that moment her experience grew across theatre, musicals, film, television, series and commercials.

Over the past fifteen years photography has taken a special place in her work. As the regular assistant to Annemiek Böhnen and during the many productions with photographer Erwin Olaf, she developed a deep understanding of how hair, skin and light come together in an image.

She has contributed to a wide range of national and international projects and exhibitions with, among others, Erwin Olaf, Gemmy Woud-Binnendijk and Govert de Roos.

Craft

An eye for the smallest detail

What sets Nadia apart is her attention to detail. The texture of the skin, the finish of a hairstyle or wig and the way everything comes together for the camera: every element contributes to the final image.

Her way of working is focused on quality from the very first moment. By working carefully during preparation, retouching is kept to a minimum and the result convinces both on camera and in person.

Onwards

Always developing

In a profession that is constantly changing, Nadia keeps developing. She sees new techniques, products and materials as an opportunity to refine her craft further. Innovation, precision and a personal approach run through everything she does.
